Thursday, February 1st, 2024 -- 10:00 AM

Application packets for Volunteers of Black River Memorial Hospital’s (BRMH) health career and Volunteer scholarships are now available on the hospital website and at area high schools, universities, and technical colleges.

The deadline for submitting applications is April 15th. The Volunteers of BRMH are accepting applications for four health career scholarships available:

  • A $2,000 Health Career Scholarship to a third-year or above college student who has been accepted in a health-related program at a non-technical college or university;
  • A $1,000 Technical College Scholarship to a student who has been accepted in a technical college and is pursuing a health career;
  • The Mary Larkin Memorial Scholarship for $1,000 to a student who has been accepted in a healthcare program in a technical college or a university and is pursuing a patient care health career;
  • And the $1,000 Volunteen scholarship is to be awarded to a qualified graduating high school student who has been accepted into a two- or four- year college, university or technical school, and has served as a Black River Memorial Hospital Volunteen.

Applicants must be a resident of Jackson County, a graduate of a Jackson County High School or currently employed at a healthcare facility/agency in Jackson County for a minimum of one year, or has served as a BRMH Volunteen (for the Volunteen scholarship).

Selection of the scholarship recipients will be completed after the April 15th deadline, by a committee composed of volunteers from BRMH, a guidance counselor from a Jackson County High School and a health professional from the community.

Scholarships will be awarded on or before August 15th or before the start of the program. Application forms are available on the Black River Memorial Hospital website at https://www.brmh.net/scholarship-opportunities or by contacting Sarah Osegard at Black River Memorial Hospital by email [email protected] or by phone 715-284-3606.
