New Sandwich Shops Coming to the Wausau Area

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) Some new sandwich options will come to Wausau in February.

According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Cousins Subs has announced they will open on February 5th, marking their return to the Wausau market. The location will feature a dining room, drive-thru service, and delivery options.

The location near County Market and Abby Bank on 18th Avenue will be open from 10 AM to 10 PM daily. Cousins has been eyeing the Wausau market for several years as they look to expand their brand.

In addition to the Wausau location, the chain has also explored new locations in areas like Middleton, Fitchburg, Wisconsin Dells, and Watertown. A remodeled Stevens Point location also recently opened on Division Street.

Cousins has more than 100 locations from Wisconsin to Chicago and Indiana. Jersey Mike’s is also scheduled to open a store in Rib Mountain this month. That location was originally scheduled to open late last year but has been delayed.

No official opening date has been listed on the company’s corporate website.
