A Hixton man facing attempted homicide charges appeared in Jackson County Court on Thursday.
On October 12, 2023, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office received a call of a home invasion in the Village of Hixton. The caller reported the male suspect, identified as Anthony Sylvester IV, brandished a firearm.
While inside the residence, Sylvester stabbed another person and fled prior to the deputy's arrival. Sylvester is facing charges of attempted 1st-degree homicide, burglary armed with a dangerous weapon, stalking, and knowingly violate a domestic order.
During Sylvester’s preliminary hearing and arraignment, probable cause was found, so his court proceedings will continue. He entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him. His cash bond was also modified down to $300,000. He’s scheduled to be back in court in March.
