Great job Mrs. Schier's 4th grade class of Granton.
You may have seen the hydroponic garden at Marshfield Medical Center-Neillsville in the past. Over the summer, they donated the hydroponic tower to Granton Area Schools as part of a partnership initiative between Marshfield Clinic Health System's Center for Community Health Advancement and Fork Farms.
The hydroponic gardens are used as a teaching tool to increase people's knowledge about nutrition and healthy eating, and improve access to green vegetables throughout the year.
Fork Farms developed a school curriculum for grades K-12, approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The curriculum uses hydroponic gardens in lessons from math to science and environmental literacy to social studies. MMC is thrilled to see this work in action.
