Wausau School Board Finds Demographer to Help Examine Next Steps Toward New Redistricting Plan
Friday, January 12th, 2024 -- 8:01 AM
(Thomas Schumacher, WSAU) The Wausau School Board has found a demographer to help them examine the next steps toward a new redistricting plan.
According to Thomas Schumacher with WSAU, Mark Roffers, an urban, rural, and regional planner and project manager with expertise in growth management and economic development, will present to the school board on February 12, according to a press release.
This presentation will be the first step of the interview process to assess if a demographer’s services will meet the needs of the Wausau School District. The presentation will come as the current superintendent, Dr. Keith Hilts, announced last month that he will be retiring at the end of the 2023–2024 school year.
The district is expected to hire the Wisconsin Association of School Boards to help with their search for a new superintendent, which they estimate will take 3–4 months to complete.
