Monroe County Silage Fire Kills 1

Saturday, December 30th, 2023 -- 6:13 AM

The Sparta Area Fire Protection District was dispatched to a reported fire on County Highway Q Friday afternoon.

The initial report was that a silage was on fire and a person was severely burned. The individual later died at the scene.

Crews were on scene for about 2 hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time and no names are being released.
