Marathon County Youth Risk Behavior Survey Highlights Importance of Students Having Nonparent Adult to Confide In
Thursday, December 7th, 2023 -- 11:00 AM
Young people need to be surrounded by people who love, care for, appreciate, and accept them.
For children and teens, having trusted nonparent adults in their lives is an important protective factor that helps them feel safe, valued, and respected. According to the 2021 Marathon County Youth Risk Behavior Survey, 69% of high school students and 67% of middle school students reported having at least one teacher or other adult in their school that they could talk to if they had a problem.
Getting to know and talking to young people in your school or community is important. Take the time to support them to build better and brighter futures. Check out the annual update to the 2022-2026 Marathon County Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) which now includes baseline performance measures.
