Marathon County Man Sentenced for Sexually Assaulting a 12-Year-Old Girl

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Marathon County man has been sentenced to 14 years in the state prison system for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl and then making her “pinky promise” not to tell.

Phillip Henle was in court on Monday where a judge gave him a seven-year stay in prison and another seven years on extended supervision. He’ll also have to register as a sex offender and must complete all treatment.

Charges stem from a July 2019 investigation involving a then 12-year-old girl who told her mother and stepfather that she had been assaulted by Henle, and that he had made her “pinky promise” to not tell anyone.

The 41-year-old is already serving a three-year prison term for drug-related charges from Langlade County. Monday’s sentence will begin after the completion of that sentence in 2026.

Henle’s new sentence will run consecutive to his current prison term, meaning he will now be incarcerated through the spring of 2033.
