Enrollment at Universities of Wisconsin Schools Increases for First Time Since 2014

(Ted Ehlen, WRN) Enrollment in Wisconsin's public universities has increased for the first time in almost a decade.

The Universities of Wisconsin says fall 2023 enrollment figures at the system’s schools grew by more than 1,700 students, or 1.1 percent. The figures show the first increase in enrollment since 2014. Over 162,000 students are currently enrolled at the 13 universities.

In addition, Freshman enrollment across the system is up at 10 of the schools, rising system-wide by 3.4%.  Despite this good news for the state universities, branch campus enrollment fell by 4%.
