MARSHFIELD TURNOUT HIGH
Tuesday, February 19th, 2008 -- 11:30 AM
Today is the day. Wisconsin's much-anticipated Primary Election began this morning at 7 a.m. Polls will remain open until 8 p.m. tonight.Voting at Neillsville's city hall has actually been somewhat slow this morning. As of 10 a.m., only about 100 Neillsvillevilians had cast their ballots.
Marshfield is another story.
On top of the Presidential Primary, City Clerk Deb Hall says voters will also weigh in on a big Marshfield School District referendum and will narrow a field of three Mayoral candidates down to just two.
Marshfield has three polling spots, and all have seen steady turnout throughout the morning.
State officials are projecting 35% voter turnout around the state. Hall expects Marshfield's will be closer to 55%.
Will have election coverage on tomorrow's newscasts.
