The Neillsville Fire Department responded to several calls over the past few days.

The first came in early Saturday morning, around 12:20am, of a power line burning because of a tree on it on Moonlite Road and Owen Avenue in the Township of Pine Valley. When they arrived, the Department discovered a power line sparking because of a tree that had fallen on it.

The Department waited for the power company and left once they arrived. They were on scene for an hour and 15 minutes and they had no injuries on their part. Next, early Sunday morning, around 2:43am, they responded to a one vehicle rollover accident at River Avenue and Maple Road.

When they arrived, they found one vehicle in the ditch upside down. They forced the door open and removed the driver who was removed and transported to MMC with minor injuries. They were on scene for 40 minutes and they had no injuries on their part.

Finally, yesterday, Monday, October 16th, around 1:38pm, they responded to a two vehicle accident, with a vehicle possibly on fire and possible entrapment, on Highway 10 and River Avenue near the hospital.

When the Department arrived, all occupants were out of the vehicles and the fire had been extinguished by a passerby with a fire extinguisher. The occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital and they had no serious injuries.

The Department disabled the batteries on the vehicle, cleared the roadway, and assisted with traffic control. The Department was on scene for half an hour and they had no injuries on their part.

They received assistance from the Neillsville Ambulance Service, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
