FLU REPORTED IN CLARK COUNTY

Friday, February 8th, 2008 -- 1:55 PM

Flu season is officially upon us, but it's not too late to get immunized.

Bonnie Flashinski with the Clark County Department of Public Health confirms several cases of Influenza have turned up in county schools in the past week or so.

Influenza "A" is characterized by a high fever, headache, tiredness, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose and body aches. It's spread when those infected cough, sneeze or talk; droplets moisture droplets contain viruses that, when inhaled by another person, can cause an infection.

The Department of Public Health still has flu vaccines available. They are $20 for adults and free for those 18 years and younger.
