Marshfield Area United Way is rallying the community and inviting volunteers to join in for National Make a Difference Day on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

From 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., volunteers will dedicate their morning to raking leaves for elderly and disabled Marshfield residents who require assistance with their yards. To show appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the volunteers, Marshfield Area United Way is excited to introduce a new feature this year: a hot breakfast.

Breakfast will be served from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at Mid-State Technical College for all volunteers. Here, they will also register and receive their leaf raking assignments. Participating in Make A Difference Day provides an opportunity to bond with family, connect with friends, and work alongside groups and co-workers.

A bit of effort, some muscle, and a generous heart can create a profound impact on Marshfield residents who are unable to manage the task of raking their lawns independently.

Residents who will have their lawns raked should be present at home on the morning of October 28th and provide enough brown leaf bags for pickup. For individuals interested in helping on this special day, please register at volunteermarshfield.org.

Marshfield Area United Way encourages early registration to ensure there is sufficient food for all attendees. Alternatively, volunteers can register by emailing [email protected] or calling 715-507-5005.

Volunteers should bring their own rakes, work gloves, and arrange their transportation. If you have a loved one who could use help with leaf raking, please call the United Way office using the number provided above.
