Judge Strikes Down Kettle Moraine School District Personal Pronouns Policy

(Ted Ehlen, WRN) A Waukesha County Judge knocked down a school district policy on personal pronouns Tuesday.

Judge Michael Maxwell’s ruling denies the policy giving students in the Kettle Moraine School District the choice to change their names and gender pronouns without parental consent.

In 2021, the parents of a 12-year-old female student sued the district, accusing district officials of inappropriately addressing with a male name and male pronouns without their permission.

Court documents state that, at the time of the filing of the suit, the girl was questioning her gender identity.  She has since decided not to transition.
