Reminder: Marshfield Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Division Continuing Invasive Buckthorn Removal; Today the Final Day
Monday, October 2nd, 2023 -- 11:01 AM
The Marshfield Parks, Recreation and Forestry Division will be continuing invasive buckthorn removal in Hamus Park and Braem Park, with today expected to be the final day.
Please avoid these areas when operations are present and stay a minimum of 300’ away if you encounter any machinery. Buckthorn is one of Wisconsin's most prevalent invasive plant species. This tall shrub causes multiple ecological problems due to its chemical makeup and the dense shade it casts.
Buckthorn is recognized by its dark green round leaves and red-to-black berries, and occasional terminal thorns. If you have any questions feel free to call the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Division at 715-486-2073.
