Marshfield Common Council Discusses Utility Commissioners and More

The Marshfield Common Council discussed members of the Marshfield Utility Commission.
The Council approved a citizen member to the Commission for a 7-year term. They also approved two Council members to the Commission for a 5-year and 6-year term. The Board also approved a budget resolution a debt service transfer to EMS for levied principal and interest payments.
The Council also had the first reading of a few ordinances. No action was taken on these items, but they will be brought back before the Council for a second reading.
The ordinances include amending Section 2-107(3) of City of Marshfield Municipal Code to provide for requests for advisory opinions from the Ethics Board, amending Section 18-66(11), Temporary uses – Farmer’s Market, to allow food trucks at farmer’s markets, and Ordinance No. 1503, updating the Marshfield High School and Madison Elementary School Campus Master Plan.
The Council also approved a request to authorize local pickleball group to raise funds for Braem Park courts, working with Parks and Recreation staff and Marshfield Area Community Foundation.
The Council also heard a report on the status of active TIF districts and approved creating Tax Incremental District #14, approving the Project Plan, and establishing its boundaries. The Council also heard a citizen’s comment on pickleball courts in the City.
