U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Releases Song on Wearing a Helmet

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) Bike and ATV injuries are a real problem, so the US Consumer Product Safety Commission wrote a song about wearing your helmet.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission wants you to wear helmets while on bikes and ATVs, so they wrote a song about it. In fact, they created a whole album about safety tips. Social Media specialist Joe Galbo says they wanted to make sure their message got to the right people.

"For Protect Ya Noggin, I mean, thinking about, you know, bike use, obviously, bikes are used all over the country, but all sorts of kids live in, in all different types of areas, you know, we thought it'd be really fun to to go with hip hop, because hip hop has such a great, you know, universal appeal these days."

The agency is known for irreverent posting on social media, but Galbo says those injuries aren't a laughing matter. "For this age group, you know, 13 to 24 years old, bike injuries and ATV injuries, both charted in the near the top."
