Motorists & Farm Vehicles Need to Safely Share Roadways

Saturday, September 23rd, 2023 -- 8:15 AM

(Bob Hague, WRN) -Drivers and operators of farm machinery all have a role in road safety during harvest season.

Wisconsin State Patrol Inspector Troy Larsen, “This time of year with more farm machinery coming out onto the roads, we just want them to be aware of it, be patient with them. This machinery is big, expensive, it has a lot of blind spots. We would like to make sure drivers are just cautious around it.  Operators try their best. They work some longer hours they cannot always see cars that are behind them and around them so we just ask that people be patient.”

Last year there were 50 injuries and two deaths resulting from collisions involving farm vehicles in Wisconsin.
