Neillsville Fire Department Responds to Manure/Silage Fire

The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a manure/silage fire Thursday evening.
According to Neillsville Fire Chief Matt Meyer, they received a call of a manure/silage fire around 10:30pm on Thursday at N719 Meads Avenue in the Township of Levis. When they arrived, a manure/silage pile was smoldering with visible embers. The homeowner has been burning a day or two before and a spark had gotten into the pile.
The Department used 6,000 gallons of water and 20 gallons of foam to extinguish the fire. They were on scene for an hour and had no injuries on their part. There were no other injuries in the incident.
