Marathon County Board of Supervisors Hears Public Comment on Resolution Against Further COVID Mandates

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) Nearly 20 people spoke during Thursday's Marathon County Board of Supervisors meeting- the topic: a potential resolution against further COVID-19 related mandates:

"We are at a pivotal important time in history. If we bow down just a little with a mandate on wearing masks or forcing vaccines to hold jobs, we are heading down the slippery slope of tyrannical governing, especiallys since medical choice should be left to the individual."

"But the whole response to this from the beginning has been insane. I wish I would have kept notes when this first started of all the things that I saw that just don't make sense."

"These past couple of years have really brought out the true color of Americans. It showed who the freedom loving people are and it showed also who the power hungry tyrants."

"We can never repeat what took place during COVID. It was a terrible disaster, not because of COVID, but how our health agencies responded."

Supervisors discussed the resolution for about 25 minutes. No decision was made- the vote is expected to come during Tuesday's voting meeting of the board. Should the resolution pass it would be sent to officials at the Department of health Services and members of the Wisconsin legislature.
