The Augusta Police Department arrested a man for 3rd offense OWI.
According to the Augusta Police Department, on September 15th, around 9:40pm, a pick-up truck failed to slow down and move over for a patrol vehicle that was parked with its emergency lights on State Road 27. A traffic stop was conducted on 40-year-old Luke Boyea.
Authorities stated Boyea had bloodshot, watery eyes, and slurred speech. They also noticed what appeared to be an open beer can on the floor of the truck. The strong smell of intoxicants was also coming from the vehicle. After a search of the vehicle, authorities found empty cans of alcohol and a meth pipe.
Boyea was taken to the Eau Claire County Jail, but released on a $1,000 signature bond. He’s being charged with possession of methamphetamine, OWI 3rd offense, resisting an officer, disorderly conduct, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He’s scheduled to be back in court on October 3rd.
