Wisconsin Rapids Police Department Releases More Information About Suicide at Aspirus Riverview Hospital

The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department has released more information regarding a Saturday incident at Aspirus Riverview Hospital involving a man who shot himself.

The Portage County Sheriff’s Department was investigating a missing person Saturday night and their investigation led them to Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.

A deputy located the missing man in a bathroom near the Emergency Room, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department then took over the investigation.

The Department stated that the man had brought the gun to the hospital himself, but they didn’t know where he got it from. The Department said that they found two full extended magazines of ammunition with the man and 17 rounds in the gun chamber.

He had apparently been caught using a company credit card for personal purchases and was scheduled to have a meeting with his boss last Friday morning.

When he didn’t show up, he was reported missing. Officials also found a black notebook found with pages filled out including notes to family members and a long entry regarding his boss.
