Wisconsin Rapids Police Department Investigating Suicide at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids

The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department is investigating a Saturday incident at Aspirus Riverview Hospital involving a man who shot himself.

The Portage County Sheriff’s Department was investigating a missing person Saturday night and their investigation led them to Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. A deputy located the missing man in a bathroom near the Emergency Room, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department then took over the investigation. The Department stated that the man had brought the gun to the hospital himself, but they didn’t know where he got it from. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
