Neillsville Common Council Approves Several Appointments

The Neillsville Common Council approved several appointments at their meeting on Tuesday.

The Council approved the appointment of Clarrissa Rochester as the new 4th Ward Alderman after the resignation of Joe Neville. The Council then approved Weld/Riley as City Attorney and approved appointments to several different committees.

Many of them were to replace for Alderman Joe Neville after his resignation and Clarrissa Rochester was approved to fill the vacancies on the Neillsville Community Fire Hall Board, Illegal Tax Committee, Solid Waste and Recycling Committee, Committee on Finance, Board of Review, Board of Health, Commission on Public Works/Utilities, Planning Commission, Airport Commission Chair, and the Property Committee.

The Council also approved Joe Neville to the Heritage Days Committee and as the chair; approved Bill Neville to the Parks and Recreation Board and as the chair, and approved Peggy Grap to the Tourism Commission. Bill Neville was also selected as the Council President.

The Council also approved to move forward with the Swiderski Agreement with some changes including a typo on the number of units and softening the language regarding whether the City will create a TIF District for the project or simply provide a loan.

The Council also approved closing W. Eighth Street from Grand Avenue to Hewett Street and West Street from W. Eighth Street to the rear parking lot of The Brickyard Bar & Grill for the Fire Department’s steak feed fundraiser on October 7th.
