Blair Man Arrested After High Speed Chase with Osseo Police Department

A Blair man has been arrested after nearly striking an Osseo Police Department cruiser and running from authorities.
According to the Osseo Police Department, on Sunday, September 10th, around 12:39am, one of their police cruisers was almost struck at the intersection of 7th and Main Street in the City of Osseo. The suspect ran a stop sign at a high rate of speed and failed to stop for the officer.
The driver then fled south on Highway 53 and reached speeds of 125 mph until crashing at the intersection of 53 and Torpen Road where it crashed through the guard rail and down an embankment.
The driver, 18-year-old Zachary Nitek of Blair, sustained minor injuries and was taken into custody. He’s being referred to the Trempealeau County District Attorney for various charges including knowingly fleeing an officer.
