FIRE DESTROYS BLACK RIVER FALLS RENTAL

Four renters were left homeless Monday when a fire gutted the apartment they just moved into the day before.Firefighters say it heavily damaged the two-story home in the Township of Brockway, near Black River Falls. Crews from the sheriff's department and the Merrillan and Black River Falls Fire Department worked the fire for more than two hours Monday morning.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The Red Cross is assisting the four renters and the landlord does have insurance.
