(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Wausau man is facing reckless homicide charges in connection with the overdose death of his girlfriend.
Andrew Washburn is said to have provided the woman with fentanyl-laced drugs, which the two ingested together last May while they were staying with family in a Wausau apartment. Another woman called police after she heard "moaning" coming from the bathroom where the two were using. Officers administered life-saving measures, but quickly determined that the woman had died.
The 34-year-old Washburn now faces a Class C felony for reckless homicide through the delivery of drugs, which could net him 40 years in prison if he's found guilty, and two additional felony counts for delivering fentanyl and amphetamines He returns to court later today for a hearing.
