Neillsville Woman Facing Charges of 2nd OWI with Children in the Vehicle Appears in Eau Claire County Court

A Neillsville woman facing charges of 2nd OWI with children in the vehicle appeared in Eau Claire County Court on Thursday.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, around 9:52pm on December 16th of 2022, they received a report of a vehicle run-off at Markgraff Road and Highway 12 in Eau Claire County. When a Trooper arrived, he noticed signs of impairment in the driver.
He began a standardized field sobriety test. The driver, Destinee Link, was arrested on suspicion of OWI. The children in the vehicle, ages three and two months, were released to an adult family member.
Link was taken to a hospital for an evidentiary test. She was then taken to the Eau Claire County Jail. Link is facing the recommended charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence 2nd offense with minor children and driver possessing open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.
During her hearing on Thursday, she entered a not guilty plea to the charges against her.
