Black River Falls Man Charged With Possession of Child Pornography Appears in Jackson County Court

A Black River Falls man accused of possessing child pornography appeared in Jackson County Court on Monday.
According to court records, a detective stated they were conducting an investigation regarding internet crimes against children by Michael Vannet that began with a CyberTip. The detective was able to gather information from Vannet’s Snapchat and Kik accounts as well as his cell phone. In the search of the materials, 18 files of suspected child pornography were found.
Vannet is facing five counts of sexual exploitation of a child and thirteen charges of possession of child pornography. He’s in jail on a $25,000 cash bond and is scheduled to be back in court on September 6th. During his arraignment he pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
