Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Says They Won't Consider Governor's Workforce Bill in Special Session

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) A Republican legislative leader says Governor Tony Evers' latest special session request isn't going to happen.
The Democratic governor wants lawmakers back in Madison next month to vote on a workforce development package which includes support for childcare providers. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos calls the 365-million-dollar plan "a rehash of Evers’ tax and spend budget".
Republicans rejected efforts to add childcare funding to the state budget earlier this year, and Vos says additional spending won't solve the childcare shortage Wisconsin families face. Assembly Republicans instead plan to send a tax cut to Evers.
