Marshfield Common Council Approves Some Ordinances

The Marshfield Common Council approved some ordinances at their recent meeting.
The Council approved an ordinance regarding the makeup of the Marshfield Utility Committee. They also had the first reading for rezoning a portion of a parcel from TR-6 (Two-family residential) to MR-12 (Multi-family residential). The Council also approved transferring $25,000 from the 2023 contingency budget to the Marshfield Fairgrounds Commission account for repairs and upgrades to the electrical system at the fairgrounds. The Council approved a list of comparable communities for use in the compensation market study and had a discussion regarding duties and responsibilities of a proposed Assistant City Administrator/Community Development Director position.
The Council also approved an agreement for services with Cedar Corporation for the creation of TIF District #14 and approved moving forward with the process to update the Mill Creek Business Park covenants. The Council also approved members of City’s negotiating team for collective bargaining with the police and fire unions with Council members to be selected at the August 8th meeting. Finally, the Council approved the Parks and Recreation Director to begin the process of soliciting bids for Wenzel Family Plaza restrooms.
