LURE OF PACKER TICKETS AWAITS BLOOD DONORS

Friday, January 4th, 2008 -- 3:07 PM

The Blood Center is sweetening the pot in the hopes of improving their mid-winter blood supplies.

The BloodCenter will have a drive in Neillsville Monday. Vicki Bohman says it's a critical time to donate.

"Many people are sick and so many people are so busy with the holidays, we see a decrease in blood donations," Bohman says. "We find that a lot of blood is used this time of year. A lot of people are traveling. The roads are icy."

"It's a time we're always looking for new donors."

The Blood Center actually has Packer Playoff tickets that they will giveaway.

"If someone has never donated with the Blood Center in the last two years, they will qualify for this drawing. Also, existing donors can get in the drawing by enlisting someone that has never given with the Blood Center," Bohman says.

The tickets are for the Packers January 12th game at Lambeau Field. The drawing will take place on January 11th.

The Memorial Medical Center blood drive is Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To schedule an appointment call Memorial Medical Center at (715) 743-3101 and ask to speak with Lori Rose. Walk-ins are also welcome.
