Two-Week Trial Scheduled for Wausau Man Charged with the Shooting Death of Another Man

A two-week trial is scheduled for April of 2024 for a Wausau man charged with the shooting death of another man.

According to investigators, on May 15th of 2021, the 45-year-old victim had parked his car on the 1000 block of South Avenue in Wausau when 47-year-old Michael Turner drove up to the vehicle and shot the victim, who he allegedly knew. The victim was able to flee the scene and drove to the intersection of South 3rd Avenue and West Thomas Street for help. However, he died on June 2nd.

Turner was arrested in Marquette County later that day. He is still in the Marathon County Jail on a $1 million cash bond. The trial is scheduled to begin on April 15th.
