The Council also heard a report on the process to advertise vacancies on City committees, board, and commission. After a discussion, the City Administrator and the Mayor decided that, twice a year, they will send a news release and article inviting residents to send an email to the city and let them know they are interested in serving on a committee.
They would also send out that information when vacancies become available on the various committees. Finally, the City’s Communications Director, from time to time, would send out articles highlighting the different committees in the City.
The Council also heard a presentation regarding employee satisfaction for the City of Marshfield. The Council also approved to appoint Carol Knauf, to the Business Improvement District Board to complete an unexpired term ending in April 2024.
The City Administrator also reported that the various city departments have applied for over $200,000 in grant funding for various projects and they’re looking for members of the Housing Committee. Also one resident spoke about the Utility Commission makeup and another resident asked about the City’s weed nuisance ordinance.
