More potentially bad news for the paper industry and the Wisconsin Rapids area.NewPage, the company that recently completed the purchase of Storo Enso North America, has announced they plan to cut $40-million in salaries.
NewPage officials will unveil the results of a company-wide evaluation within the next month.
Storo Enso North America includes nearly 3,000 employees in six Wisconsin communities, including headquarters in Wisconsin Rapids.
Meanwhile, Stora Enso has delisted its from the New York Stock Exchange. The last day of trading for the securities was Friday. As of now, they trade only on the International Exchange.
Stora Enso was the parent of the former Consolidated Paper Co. of Wisconsin Rapids.
