Black River Falls Fire Department Responds to Jackson County Sheriff's Office for Hazardous Material Release

Thursday evening, July 6th, the Black River Falls Fire Department responded to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office for a hazardous material release.
According to the Department, the hazardous material, identified as fentanyl, was handled by federal and state Haz-mat officials while BRFFD Engine 12 and Rescue 3 acted in a support role during the incident. The hazardous material was tested, and the spill was contained and cleaned up.
BRFFD returned to quarters and there were no injuries during the incident. That is all the information our department will be releasing.
