Former Wausau Financial Advisor Sentenced for Cheating Clients

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A former Wausau area financial advisor is going to federal prison for swindling millions from his clients.

Anthony Liddle ran Prosper Wealth Management in Wausau for several years, but investigators discovered that instead of taking his client's money and making low-risk investments, he was pocketing it for himself- taking nearly 2 million dollars for his personal expenses including trips.

Liddle had presented himself as a family man who cared about helping others, but instead Judge James Peterson noted that he ended up stealing from people that he knew very well. The 41-year-old told investigators the money was a personal loan, even faking loan documents.

His sentence includes eight years in a federal prison
