Wisconsin Emergency Management Says Keep Your 4th of July Fireworks Safe and Sane

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) Don't go looking for illegal fireworks this 4th of July.
Wisconsin Emergency Management is asking you to be safe and sane with your fireworks tomorrow. Spokesperson Katie Rousonelos says that above all else, be aware of how you're using your fireworks. "Every municipality they have their own local laws and their permitting requirements for using fireworks. So also be aware of those burning restrictions"
Be sure you and your kids are safe with fireworks this 4th of July. Wisconsin Emergency Management Spokesperson Katie Rousonelos says that a few safety steps will go a long way. "Always use fireworks outside and have that bucket of water or hose nearby in case something does go wrong and you spark a fire."
Don't go looking for illegal fireworks this 4th of July. Wisconsin Emergency Management Spokesperson Katie Rousonelos says large fireworks are restricted for a reason. "Those mortars and those fireworks that do leave the ground can cause risk and danger to the community if not used properly."
When doing your own displays at home, use ground displays and sparklers, and be sure to keep a bucket of water or a fire extinguisher on hand in case something goes wrong.
