St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville Celebrates Ordination of the Second Priest to Come From Their Parish

St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville celebrated the ordination of the second priest to come from their parish in its history on Saturday.

Father Alex Kren was ordained to the priesthood in the Diocese of La Crosse along with 3 others at St. Joseph The Workman Cathedral in La Crosse.  Fr. Alex then celebrated his first Mass as priest on Sunday at St Mary’s in Neillsville, followed by a parish reception and dinner. Fr. Alex is the son of the late Tom Kren and Sherry Hickey, both of Neillsville.

Fr. Alex will be appointed Associate Pastor of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Chippewa Falls and St. Peter Parish in Tilden along with Chaplain to Notre Dame Middle School and McDonell Central Catholic High School in Chippewa Falls, effective on July 4th.

Fr. Nate Kuhn was the first priest ordained from St. Mary's parish in 2014.
