Man in Custody Following Shooting in Tomah

(Ted Ehlen, WRN) A man is in custody following a shooting in Tomah.

Police there say they responded to the report of a person who had been shot at the Super 8 Motel there early Sunday morning.  A quarter-hour later, police then head to another address in the city for a report of a person “bleeding profusely.”

An investigation there led to the arrest of 23-year-old Krimzen Perea of Tomah.  Perea is accused of intentionally discharging a firearm at the victim, striking them twice.  Police say the victim fought for the firearm after being shot and was able to take it from Perea.

The victim fled to the motel where staff called 911. The victim has been treated for their gunshot wounds.
