(Raymond Neupert, WRN) State Legislative Democrats want to ensure that Wisconsin women have a right to birth control.
State Legislative Democrats want to ensure that Wisconsin women have a right to birth control. Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez says a newly introduced package of bills would ensure that women can continue to access vital health care.
"So, that no courts or lawmakers who are hell-bent on inserting their beliefs into places where they do not belong, can further infringe upon an individual's right to freely make their own health care decisions."
Rodriguez says access to birth control ensures that women have a say in their own health care. "Wisconsinites deserve better and passing the right to contraception act is one step in the right direction."
Republicans in the Assembly introduced a bill on Wednesday that would allow pharmacists to prescribe birth control over the counter without having to talk with a doctor.
