CHARGING DECISION IN SUDER CASE COULD COME SOON

Thursday, December 13th, 2007 -- 10:05 AM

We should learn soon if a former girlfriend of a state legislator will be charged with stealing from his bank accounts and misusing his credit cards.

According to court documents, Rep. Scott Suder of Abbotsford claims Lisa Brabazon lived with him from January 2007 to September of 2007. In September, Suder claims she gained access to his accounts and began using his credit cards without permission.

All tolled, he believes she took nearly $3,200 from him.

He kicked her out of the house. She allegedly broke in, cutting herself in the process.

The Colby-Abbotsford Police Department has already forwarded one part of the investigation on to the Clark County D-A and plans to ship the other part to the Marathon County D-A in the next few days.

Suder's home is in Clark County, so if Brabazon is charged for breaking into the home, the charge will come from special prosecutor Gerald Fox of Jackson County in Clark County Circuit Court.

Most of the alleged misuse of Suder's funds came in Marathon County, so those charges would be filed there.
