Marshfield Common Council Hears Presentation and More

It was a night of discussion and information, more so than action, at the Marshfield Common Council meeting on Tuesday.

The Council began the meeting hearing a housing presentation and a presentation on the City’s Emergency Preparedness planning. The Board did approve the rezoning of a plot of land across from Vandehey Waters for mixed use and approved the general development plan for a new mini-golf course on that land.

The Board also approved the sale of the $3,650,000 in general obligation bonds. The bonds were bought by TD Securities at a rate of 3.56%. The Council also heard an update on the Marshfield Utility Committee.

The Council did approve a Special Board Meeting to begin the budget process, approved an appointment to the Fire and Police Commission, and had the first reading of new members to the Economic Development Board and Audit Committee.

The Council also had a discussion about a possible ordinance that would prohibit declawing cats in the City. Finally, the Council received a presentation about the City’s mobile app and a tool that helped with the chickens survey.
