Marshfield Fire Department Responds to Trailer Fire

The Marshfield Fire Department responded to a structure fire 1407 N. Peach Avenue Marshfield, lot 320.
Just before midnight yesterday evening, Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched for flames coming from a trailer home at the address listed above. It was reported that all occupants were out of the home and a dog and a cat remained inside.
Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department responded immediately with 2 engines and 1 ambulance. Marshfield Police Department also responded to the scene. Upon arrival the trailer home was fully engulfed with fire with portions of the exterior walls already failing.
A defensive attack was used to extinguish the fire and handlines were used to protect the adjoining structures. The fire was quickly knocked down. Firefighters remained on scene for several hours ensuring all hot spots were extinguished.
A box alarm was requested to assist with manpower from Hewitt Fire department and Wood County Central Fire and Rescue Association. The fire is currently under investigation. There were no injuries to citizens or fire personnel, but the dog and cat perished in the fire. The structure and its contents are a total loss.
