Humbird Man Sentenced for Human Trafficking

A Humbird man charged with human trafficking was sentenced in Eau Claire County Court.

Mark Scoville pleaded no contest, and was found guilty of, human trafficking and two counts of 2nd degree sexual assault. Scoville was arrested after a woman he was with, Catherine Ottinger, was arrested and told authorities they were living in a tent between Fairchild and Stanley.

Scoville was sentenced to six years of prison and ten years of extended supervision. In May of 2022, Ottinger was sentenced to three years of probation for trying to sell a child for sex in May of 2021.
