The Clark County Seal-A-Smile (SAS) program is complete for the 2022-2023 school year.

The Clark County SAS program is a school-based oral health program with a focus on dental sealants. Clark County SAS provides free oral health services for all children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade, regardless of insurance status, at participating schools.

Oral health services are provided by a licensed dental professional on various dates throughout the school year. Oral health services include:

  • Teeth cleaning and exam;
  • Education on proper teeth brushing;
  • Fluoride treatment(s);
  • And dental sealants (if applicable).

For the 2022-2023 school year, participating schools included:

  • Abbotsford,
  • Colby,
  • Colby St. Mary’s,
  • Granton,
  • Greenwood,
  • Loyal,
  • Loyal St. Anthony’s,
  • Neillsville,
  • Neillsville St. John’s,
  • Thorp,
  • And Thorp Catholic.

Clark County SAS services were also provided to students who attended Dorchester Head Start. New for the 2022-2023 school year, the Clark County SAS team has created a “Clark County Seal-A-Smile Program” end of year report.

The report includes information on the importance of the program, data, and more (i.e., participation rates, cavity rates, the amount of money in preventative oral health services that were provided to Clark County students, etc.).

This report can be found on the Clark County Seal-A-Smile webpage at: www.clarkcountywi.gov/ph-seal-a-smile. This summer, Clark County SAS will be promoting early sign-up for the program for the 2023-2024 school year.

If your child attends school at one of the participating schools, and will be in Kindergarten through 8th grade next school year, you can sign them up now through the online consent form. The online consent form is available on the Clark County SAS webpage.

Otherwise, hard copy paper consent forms will be sent home to students at participating school districts for the 2023-2024 school year. The Clark County SAS team would like to extend a thank you to all partners who help make this program possible.
