National Farm Medicine Center Donates Slow Moving Vehicle Placards to Marathon County Sheriff's Department
Friday, June 9th, 2023 -- 11:00 AM
The National Farm Medicine Center at Marshfield Clinic Research Institute (NFMC) has generously donated Slow Moving Vehicle (SMV) placards to the Marathon County Sheriff's Office.
Why is this important? Well, farm equipment on the roads is often slower than the usual traffic, which can sometimes lead to accidents if other drivers aren't aware. These SMV placards are a simple but effective solution to increase the visibility of slow-moving farm equipment, thereby helping prevent crashes.
The Sheriff's Office will hand out these placards to our local farmers and farm equipment operators who currently do not display them while they are on public roadways.
The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office wants to thank the NFMC and its generous donors for their dedication to the well-being of our community, going beyond healthcare to ensure safety in every aspect of our daily lives.
