Tourism Numbers for Clark and Wood Counties

Wisconsin tourism’s industry had a record-breaking economic impact in 2022.
Record-breaking overnight visits fueled the $23.7 billion total economic impact. Each of the 72 counties saw year-over-year growth. 1 in 21 jobs in Wisconsin was sustained by tourism in the state with 2.9%, or 174,000, jobs were in the tourism industry.
$1.5 billion were generated in state and local taxes due to tourism and $1.3 billion in federal taxes. Each household in Wisconsin would have had to pay an extra $620 in 2022 to maintain the same level of government service generated by tourism spending.
Clark County had a total of $60 million in economic impact in 2022. Direct visitor spending came to $37 million for Clark County. The County had 340 tourism jobs in 2022. The County generated $3.1 million in state and local taxes in 2022.
Wood County had a total of $198 million in economic impact in 2022. Direct visitor spending came to $103.1 million for Wood County. The County had 2,121 tourism jobs in 2022. The County generated $12.1 million in state and local taxes in 2022.
