Taylor Man Sentenced for 5th OWI in Jackson County

A Taylor man arrested in Jackson County for operating while intoxicated after speeding on a Jackson County Highway was sentenced in Jackson County Court.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, in December of last year, Jason Twieg was pulled over for speeding on Highway 95 in the Town of Curran. He was traveling over 100mph. The deputy noticed signs of impairment and conducted a field sobriety test, which Twieg failed.

Twieg was found guilty, due to a no contest plea, 5th OWI and bail jumping. Another charge was dismissed and read in and another was dismissed on the prosecutor’s motion. Twieg was sentenced to 2 years in state prison and 2 years of extended supervision.
