Loyal Social Studies Teacher Creating Local History Course

The Loyal School District is bringing an interesting new course to students.

Over the past three years, Kyle Damask has been teaching Social Studies in Loyal. He has revamped and created several courses in the social studies department ranging from Holocaust Genocide and Human Rights to bringing Dual-Credit Psychology and Sociology in person for students seeking college credit in the social sciences.

He is now piloting a new course at the High School called State and Local History.  This course is going to be a project-based learning course in which he is looking for help with obtaining people who would be interested in having students conduct interviews with them on a wide variety of topics.

These topics will have occurred in the mid-late 20th centuries gaining the local perspective on national issues such as Vietnam, the decades of the 50s through the 90s, family history, and among other historical topics.
